Bardney Sugar Beet Factory was built in 1927 alongside the GNR line from Lincoln to Boston (to the east) and the river Witham (west).

It ceased processing beet in 2011, though parts of the plant are still used for bulk storage of sugar and also for sugar refining.

The sugar beet factory at Brigg, one of 18 run by the British Sugar Corporation, opened in 1928 and closed in 1991.

It was sited close to the New River Ancholme and the Sheffield-Cleethorpes railway about a mile south-west of the town.

A gas-powered station, now operated by Centrica, was built on an adjacent site in 1993.

A 5-storey, 5-sailed brick tower mill built in c.1813 by Sam Oxley of Alford, together with a range of outbuildings. It was known as Dobson's Mill after a long-serving miller here.

It retains a full range of machinery and equipment including three pairs of stones and it has unusual left-handed sails (ie, they rotate clockwise, unlike most windmills).

The windmill worked commercially until 1964 and is now in the ownership of Lincolnshire County Council.
