The church at Aunsby has some Norman work inside (e.g. chancel arch).

The tower was built in the 13th century.  The bell openings have geometrical tracery.

The spire has two tiers of lucarnes in alternating directions.

Kelly's Directory 1913 records :-

"The church of St. Thomas a Becket is a small edifice of stone in the Transition-Norman, Early English and later styles:

it was restored in 1861, when the tower and spire were taken down and each stone restored to its place, under the superintendence of Mr. W. Thompson, architect, of Grantham, at a cost of about £1,000:

it now consists of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch and an Early Decorated western tower with spire, containing 3 bells:

there are several stained windows:

the ancient Norman font is a cylinder of stone, surrounded by four short columns with foliaged capitals, the whole being raised on a slab supported by a high square base or pedestal:

the columns of the north arcade are also Norman:

in the east end of the north aisle is a slab inscribed to . . . John Colthurst, gent. of Ownsby, bur. 2 Dec. 1627:

there are 140 sittings"
