This was built as a mill with five floors and four sails in 1864.

Hudson's Mill worked by wind until the 1920s. Later an engine and then electrical power were used.

The tower is listed Grade II.

Kelly's Directory 1930 lists "Bird Percy, grocer, Post office" 

Also "Post, M. 0. & T. Office (to which messages may be sent for treatment as express letters). Letters arrive from Sleaford"

This is how the Elementary School on High Gate may have appeared when first built in 1877.
 
It provided place for 156 pupils and had a house for the schoolmaster attached. The cost of the building was £1850.
 
The first teachers at the school were Mr Fricker and Miss Clara Davies.

This was the second chapel built for the Primitive Methodists on this site on the Green. It cost £350 and was dedicated in 1883.

This feels more a town church than a village one.

It is mostly in the Decorated style, restored from 1871-3. The pulpit and some of the pews are seventeenth-century.
