On the left is Little Bytham's former station on the Great Northern railway which closed in 1959 (though the line is still open). In the distance is the now closed Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line. To the right is the still open Willoughby Arms pub.

This is the one surviving bridge (at TF 025 176) from the short-lived Little Bytham to Edenham Light Railway, commonly known as Lord Willoughby's Private Railway.

It opened in 1856 and closed for passengers in 1871, though horse-drawn goods wagons continued to use the line until 1884.

It provided a link from the main Towns Line at Little Bytham to a terminus close to Willoughby's home at Grimsthorpe Castle.

The bridge carries the minor road from Little Bytham to Witham on the Hill.

Little Bytham's church is a rare dedication to St Medard, sixth-century Bishop of Noyon in France. There is some surviving Anglo-Saxon work.

The tower arch is Norman as are a south window and doorway in the chancel. The nave is Early English and the chancel arch Decorated.

Open to visitors.

The base of the tower dates from the Norman period. Higher sections are thirteenth century and the highest parts (battlements, lozenge frieze) are in the Perpendicular style of the fifteenth century.

The Easter Sepulchre is described by Pevsner as 'coarse'. The gable section carries ballflower decoration.

The simple octagonal font probably dates from the Perpendicular 15th century period. Fitted steps indicate its unusual height.
