The high arches on all four sides of the tower are a puzzle (Pevsner), suggesting that a cruciform plan with central tower might have been envisaged.

The clerestory is Perpendicular with three pairs of close windows. The parapet over the south aisle may date from the seventeenth century.

The chancel arch is very similar to the tower arch and the arches of the three-bay north and south arcades follow the same style of the fourteenth century.
