The Turnor family of Stoke Rockford built this house in the northern part of their Lincolnshire estate in 1775.

On the site of an earlier mansion, it was designed by John Carr of York.

Panton was sold by the Turnors in 1917 and was then occupied by a Franciscan college.

The house was demolished in 1964 but the fine stables of the 1770s remain.

The Turnor family (principal home Stoke Rockford) owned Panton Hall and the associated estate in the Wragby area until 1917. From time to time it was occupied by one of the family.

Edmund Turnor (d.1903) was the last head of the family to reside there. His widow, Lady Mary Katherine Turnor, stayed in the house until the end of the Second World War.

Between 1919 and the late 1930s it housed a Franciscan college and friary and the west wing drawing room was converted into the chapel seen here.

Kelly's Directory 1905 states "Panton Hall, the seat of Christopher Turnor esq. lord of the manor and principal landowner is a handsome mansion of white brick, situated on finely wooded eminence, and surrounded by a beautiful undulating and park-like country"

In 1930 the entry reads "Panton Hall, a college and friary of the Franciscan order, and a preparatory school, is a handsome building of brick, situated on a finely-wooded eminence, and surrounded by beautiful undulating country. The teaching staff consists of friars of the order"

This Georgian church built in greenstone was declared redundant in 1974. Renewal of the bellcote and west gable in brick has been undertaken since.
