Built 1686 according to a datestone though it might have C16 origins. C19 front entrance porch and bay windows with extensive C19-C20 alterations and rear additions.

The ironstone tower of St George's is 13th century.  Much of the rest of the building dates from the 13th or 14th centuries.

The interior has a 14th century font and 18th century furnishings.

The north aisle of the church was demolished in 1776 - the blocked medieval  arcade is clearly visible in the nave wall.
